Russia increases financing of education and culture

© Russian Ministry of Education and Science The government has approved the budget for three years ahead, RIA Novosti reports. According to Finance Minister Anton Siluanov, the main expenditure items for this period are social and defense sectors, as well as support of national economics.

The government plans to allocate 7 billion US dollars for education’s needs. This amount is stipulated for 2018. At this, Russian Finance Ministry allocated much less – 6,4 billion US dollars for the educational sphere this year.

Besides, the plan is to provide 6,8 billion dollars for 2019 and 6,9 billion dollars for the needs of Ministry of Education and Science for 2019 and 2020 correspondently.

Almost 1,4 billion dollars will be spent for the cultural field next year, whereas in 2019 – 1,2 billion dollars and 1,3 billion dollars - in 2020 for the same purpose

This money will be directed at implementation of projects on development of libraries, museums and Heritage programme. Creative initiatives of population will be supported by these budgets too. Awards of Russian governments and Presidential grants in the sphere of culture and arts to creative alliances and educational organizations.
