XIX World Festival for Youth and Students finishes selection of participants

ura.ruThe process of selection participants has finished a month before the beginning of the World Festival for Youth and Students, TASS informs. Registration of guests from abroad ready to take part in the regional programmes ended the day before.

Trips around different regions of the country are planned for foreigners for the first time at this festival. Two thousand participants from abroad will be able to visit fifteen Russian cities as a part of this programme. At this, there were much more applications for this programme almost. Their quantity amounted to three and a half thousand.

Organizers announced the beginning of flash mob #ImGoingtotheFestival. Participants, volunteers, guests and reporters can share their expectations and get to know each other in advance following this tag.

Two hundred people will go to Saint Petersburg, another two hundred of visitors will visit Kaliningrad and one more two hundred guests will attend Ekaterinburg. Vladivostok, Kazan, Orenburg, Veliky Novgorod, Krasnoyarsk and Rostov-on-Don will welcome one hundred people each. Sevastopol, Yaroslavl, Tyumen, Makhachkala, Novosibirsk and Izhevsk will accept fifty guests each.

Foreign guests together with peers will take part in discussions, sports and cultural events.
It is worth reminding that key activities of the festival are planned in Sochi. The total number of applications from abroad exceeds fifty thousand. Russian young people sent more than sixty-two thousand applications. Twenty thousand people plan to participate in the festival, where ten thousand is from our country, and the other half comes from abroad.
