Boris Eifman's Ballet brings Rodin. The Eternal Idol performance for the first time in China

St. Petersburg State Academic Ballet Theatre of Boris Eifman has completed its tour in Shanghai, TASS reports. For the first time Chinese spectators have seen staging of Rodin. The Eternal Idol and Anne Karenina based on the eponymous novel by Lev Tolstoy. Despite the fact that the latter was already shown in Beijing and Shanghai two times, all the tickets were sold out.

The theater deputy director German Gureev has noted that the troupe was nervous before the performances knowing that Chinese audience is very picky. However Eifman ballet was welcomed very warmly. Chinese theater critics have marked exceptional artistic language of Boris Eifman, representing original mix of contemporary choreography, classical ballet, and psychological theater. After the tour was finished, the Ballet Theatre of Boris Eifman has immediately received another invitation for the next year.

The ballet will continue its tour in Beijing until September, 16.

As we reported earlier, St. Petersburg State Academic Ballet Theatre has toured in US and Europe recently. All the tickets were sold out several months in advance. Rodin. The Eternal Idol performance in Madrid has been an exceptional success.
