The place of setting the plate was cathedral of the Sign of the Holy Mother of God. It was deliberately chosen, because Dukes Bekovichi, Sunchaleevichi, Cherkasskiye were buried there. Their ancestors called Adygs arrived to serve Ivan the Fourth together with his future wife Maria Temrukovna. There were prominent military commanders and state figures among them.

According to Yuri Kokov, setting the memorial plate is another sign, which clearly proves the unity of Russia. “Today, as 460 years ago, population of Kabardino-Balkaria makes an oath sincerely and unanimously – With Russia Forever”, President of Kabardino-Balkaria underlined.

Patriarch Kirill has added that at present, despite all the complications, dangers and challenges, first of all, due to international terrorism, these peoples guard peace at the southern borders of our country.

He has emphasized that in spite of the fact that majority of Kabardino-Balkaria citizens witness Islam, whereas Russians are Orthodox Christians, people have the same system of values.
