Peter the Great Museum of Anthropology and Ethnography (Kunstkamera) presented a new version of its website with a broadened thematic catalogue containing pictures of main exposition and reserves, TASS reports.
From now on, Internet users can choose and book excursions, look through an online catalogue and download scientific articles. A virtual trip around Kunstkamera is also possible.
It is noteworthy that an updated site includes seven times more exhibited items than museum halls: a total number of objects from the thematic catalogue amounts to around 57 thousand storage units.
Kunstkamera’s collection has been constantly refilled over three centuries of its existence. Currently it comprises more than 1,2 million items. Apart from the website, developers released a mobile application for smartphones to help visitors understand halls’ layout and get to know information about the exhibited items.
