First International National Sports festival of CIS countries opens in Ulianovsk

sportuln.ruFirst International National Sports festival of CIS countries has opened in Russian city Ulianovsk, named after Vladimir Ulianov-Lenin. More than 300 participants from 10 countries have arrived at the festival, TASS reports. Most of the sports competitions take place in the Volga-Sport-Arena Ice Palace built three years ago for the ball hockey. 

About 90 sets of medals are to be awarded in such sports as “tug of war”, hurlbat, sambo, and some others. 700-people parade honoring Day of the Athletes has opened the festival. 

An exhibition devoted to traditional national sports, round tables, and discussions targeting popularisation of healthy lifestyle in CIS countries complete the busy festival’s schedule.
