Russian schoolkids succeed at the International Geography Olympiad

Russian school children have won three silvers and one bronze medal at the International Geography Olympiad in Belgrade, Serbia, Ministry of Culture and Science reports.

There were kids from 41 countries. Four teens from Russia were sent to participate in the Olympiad. They represent Russia’s capital schools and Perm region schools.

Middle school students have demonstrated an excellent knowledge not just of geography, but also of English. All the problems were written in English. Young geographers have competed in 3 subjects: written test, multimedia test, and field observation.

Last year Russian school children have received 4 prizes as well: one gold, two silvers, and one bronze. All the winners received a chance to study in the most prestigious Russian institution – Moscow State University.
