Consortia of universities - higher education exporters to attract more foreigners

07.08.2017

RUDN/FacebookRF Ministry of Education has reiterated its plan to establish Consortia of universities - higher education exporters, TASS reports. It is expected that this entity would attract foreign students and make Russian universities brand name more recognizable.

The ministry noted, that experts have started exploring the issue. The list of institutions is already completed, and Consortia will be registered this month.

Education Export project realisation has started this spring. This project is intended for several years with a final stop in 2025. In the frames of Education Export some legal documents on accepting foreigners in Russian universities and foreign diplomas' evaluation are to be revised. Some changes are going to affect taxes as well.

It is planned to create foreign students' support service, which will start working in a test mode at 20 national institutions. From 2021 the service is going to function in all universities.

Experts think that all these procedures will help to triple the number of foreigners who want to study in our country. Also the number of online students will grow more than three times - from one million to 3,5 million entrants.
