According to the Vladimir Oblast mayor Svetlana Orlova, this idea has been brought by her colleague, acting head of Novgorodskaya Oblast Andrey Nikitin.

The main goal of the project is popularization of our country’s history, and also these three cities that have very rich historical and cultural traditions. The new route will be developed with the help of Institutions, regional history experts and literary projects.

Svetlana Orlova and Andrey Nikitin are going to discuss further this topic during the official visit of Vladimir Oblast delegation to Novgorod. They will put signatures under agreement of cooperation between two regions.

Veliky Novgorod used to be the capital of the Old Russian State from 862 to 882. Vladimir was the capital of Vladimir-Suzdal Principality, and then Northeast Russia from 1157 to the middle of 14th century. Moscow took the place of the Russia’s capital at the end of 15th century and kept that status until 1712, when Saint Petersburg has received the capital status. After the Russian Revolution, Moscow was declared the capital of the RSFSR. It still stays the main city of our country.
