International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) sent to Russian sports officials the conditions of our athletes’ participation in the World Championships in Athletics in London banning our sportsmen to sing the national anthem, as per RIA Novosti. Besides, all Russian participants allowed to take part in the competitions (only 19 athletes received a license) are to have a neutral status.

The above-mentioned document forbids our athletes to demonstrate the national flag, emblem or any other symbol or logo of the Federation. A uniform the participants are going to be dressed up should not reveal the nationality of sportsmen. The ban concerns coaches and companions of the participants as well. In case of any infringements, IAAF will have to apply appropriate sanctions against the sportsmen. The World Championships in Athletics are to start on August, 4. Mariya Lasitskene (high jumps) and Sergei Shubenkov (110-meter hurdles) have good chances to win these competitions.

It should be reminded that IAAF disqualified the All-Russia Athletic Federation in summer 2016 due to the fact that all our athletes were banned from participation in the Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. The membership of the All – Russia Athletics Federation in IAAF have not been restituted yet.
