School children from Russia took several prizes at the 58th International Mathematical Olympiad in Brazil, TASS reports. Despite the fact that in the team scoring Russia took 11th place, individual members have managed to resolve several complicated math problems winning gold, silver and bronze.

Children have received 3 problems that they had to solve in 1.5 hours. After the task was finished, an International jury had to estimate math calculations and decide who’ll earn prizes.

Mikhail Ivanov from St Petersburg was the most prominent Russian team member. He has received a gold medal and 14th place in individual scoring. Apart from this prize, our team has received 3 silver and 2 bronze.

South Korean team was recognized the best. All its participants have earned gold medals.

Let us remind you that our schoolkids have won several gold medals at the last International Mathematical Olympiad that took place in Hong Kong. Last year Russian team was at the 7th place in the team scoring.
