21.07.2017

Mariinsky Ballet, official website
London tour of Mariinsky Theater will start with Don Quixote by Minkus on June 24. But the most expected one is going to be the signature of classical ballet, Tchaikovsky’s Swan Lake. The tickets for all Swan Lake shows are already sold out, but there are still some tickets left for La Bayadère, the other Minkus masterpiece ballet.

Those who prefer more recent pieces could indulge with Anna Karenina (the plot is based on Leo Tolstoy’s novel) and Carmen Suite written by one of the most brilliant Soviet composers, Rodion Schedrin. The Mariinsky stars – Diana Vishneva and Victoria Tereshkina will play the leading parts.

The one-act program Contrasts includes three ballets: aforementioned Carmen Suite staged by Alberto Alfonso, Infra choreographed by Wein MacGregor, and Grand pas staged by Yuri Smekalov.

Besides famous soloists, young and talented dancers will demonstrate their potential. Boris Gruzin and Andrey Repnikov are going to conduct the famous Mariinsky Orchestra.
