Russian parliamentarians warned European colleagues against rewriting WW2 history

alytusplius.ltRussian Parliamentarians called out colleagues in Europe to protest against monuments demolition that were installed in the memory of Soviet soldiers who lost their lives fighting Fascism. It is written in the Russian State Duma statement, RIA Novosti reports.

Parliamentarians have stated that it is necessary to unite not to let Fascism revival in all its forms. The statement was received by European parliaments, OSCE, PACE, and other international organizations.

The document authors think that encouraging attempts to rewrite the outcome of the Second World War is very dangerous. Polish Decommunization Act is one of very recent and sad examples of these attempts. Warsaw wants to diminish the role that Soviet Army played in releasing Europe and all other world from fascism. Meanwhile, the memory of soldiers, officers, partisans, and Holocaust victims perished in the WW2 should be sacred.
