Yekaterinburg receives Saint Catherine relics from Italy

Italian Marquise Immacolata Solaro del Borgo gifted a fragment of Saint Catherine relics to Yekaterinburg Eparchy of the Russian Orthodox Church, Interfax reports. Saint Catherine is considered to be a patroness of this city.

Representative of one of the oldest aristocratic dynasties have visited Russia many times, and presented various relics to Russian Orthodox churches.

An Italian noblewoman has also gifted fragments of apostles Jacob and Phillip relics, with corresponding certificates of authenticity. Metropolitan Kirill has accepted precious gifts with gratitude. He has stated that after the Saint Catherine church construction in the Urals' capital is completed, the Saint Catherine relics to be conveyed to the local pastors.
