IMDS starts in St. Petersburg

IMDS posterInternational Military Maritime Defense Show started in Saint Petersburg today on June 28, TASS reports. Around five hundred companies are participating in the event. Apart from the Russian companies, foreign businesses presented their goods and developments at the show.

United Shipbuilding Corporation has the largest exposition. The audience may familiarize themselves with various models of ships, watercrafts and other marine equipment such as nuclear submarine 955 Borei and 636 submarine with a loading missile complex Club-S.

Physic torpedo in its export variant variant will be presented to guests for the first time. The Russian Navy has recently included it into the inventory. The torpedo will replace the old model of forty years old.

The most spectacular moment will be an exhibition of war ships moored by the Marine station. Overall, 21 ships, a motor boat, and vessels provided by the Navy and the Board Guard Service of the Russian Federal Security Service will be displayed at the exhibition.
