Putin and Macron to establish French-Russian Civil Forum

The Presidential Administration of Russia Negotiations of Russian President Vladimir Putin and his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron lasted for almost three hours in total. At first they were held in a closed format, afterwards, members of delegations joint the countries’ leaders, as per the Kremlin official website.

During their first meeting, two presidents discussed current challenges of the international agenda, such as the Syrian crisis, the South-Eastern Ukrainian armed conflict, the situation on the Korean Peninsula and relations between Russia and the West, EU leading countries in particular.

Talks ended with a joint press conference where Russian and French Presidents shared their impressions and answered reporters’ questions.

Heads of states claimed their intentions to establish French-Russian Civil Forum with mission to set close connections in the field of business, culture and between youth activists. Emmanuel Macron has reminded to the audience that similar cooperation exists between the Russian Federation and Federal Republic of Germany expressing hope that France and Russia would follow the same path.

Parties stated their intentions to extend humanitarian collaboration and all kinds of youth exchange programmes, including scientific ones.
