Siberian scientists taught computer to define emotional content of texts

pixabay.comScientists from Institute of Philology and Language Communication of Siberian Federal University developed technology for automatized analysis of emotions contained in a text, RIA Novosti reports.

According to the Institute workers, this interdisciplinary international project at the joint of linguistics, information technologies, psychology and neurophysiology has already proven its consistency.

Nowadays applied linguistics keeps interfering into our everyday life and automatized text analysis as well as results of speech research find applications in all field of human activities, such as marketing and advertising structures, political technologies and intelligence services.

Until now there were several systems evaluating this or that emotional context by key words. From now on, new software product by Krasnoyarsk scientists is able to understand emotional context and even estimate depth of emotional content of a text.

The Institute worker, Anastasia Kolmogorova mentioned that the developed classifier would be in high demand for analyzing messages in the social networks.
