Tariverdiev's contest has opened in Hamburg

International Organ Competition Tariverdiev's contest has opened in Hamburg. The contest is devoted to famous Russian composer Michael Tariverdiev. The contest will continue in USA and Russia. This year the contest celebrates 10 years anniversary. It is being conducted once every two years.

This year more than 25 people applied to participate. 19 were admitted. Young musicians come from Australia, Hungary, Germany, China, Korea, Poland, Russia, Lithuania, Czech Republic.

Contest art-director, the musician's widow Vera Tariverdiev has marked that the qualifying round would be in Germany. According to her the most quantity of finalists come from Germany and not from US or Moscow.

The auditions will be conducted in St. Michael's Church. Those who come to semi-finals will appear together on the concert stage with professional opera soloists and previous years laureates.

The competition finals and semi-finals will take place at the beginning of the spring in Kaliningrad, in conjunction with Organ Plus festival.

Jury International stars participate in the festival and in the contest.
