Moscow Days’ Festival starts in Israel

wikipedia.orgMoscow days’ festival starts in Israel today, April 25, RIA Novosti informs. A memorial ceremony in honor of the perished fighters against Fascists will open the festival. This ceremony is dedicated to another anniversary of the Great Victory in WWII and will take place near the Red Army monument established in the city of Netanya at the bank of the Mediterranean Sea. The Russian Jewish Council organizes this campaign. WWII veterans will take part in this event. Among them are Ivan Martynushkin and Leontiy Brandt. They freed prisoners of Oswiecim – the death camp. Alexandra Garbuzova, a young prisoner of the concentration camp, will arrive at the festival too.

The festival activities include flowers and wreaths laying ceremony and veterans’ victory parade. Students from Moscow military musical school will perform for the veterans. The opening of the large photography exhibition about the battle for Moscow is also planned.

Later the festival will move on to other cities. It will be organized in Tel Aviv, Jerusalem and Haifa. Apart from the extensive cultural programme, the festival agenda will include some sports’ events: judo, chess and basketball competitions. Besides, businessmen from both countries will have an opportunity to discuss collaboration perspectives in different spheres.
