A protest rally against fake news took place in New York this weekend, TASS reports. His participants gathered near the main office of the well-known US paper The New York Times. Several dozens of people demanded to stop publishing fake information regarding Russia and Syria. The rally was organized by International Shiller Institute and local office of Tea Party. People brought posters with inscriptions The New York Times is For War with Russia, Americans are for Peace! Don’t Let Them Fool You Down Again. The rioters have handed out leaflets to passers-by with information that the paper is governed by forces who do not want collaboration between Washington and Russia.

The rioters reminded that before WW2 this paper spoke well of Hitler. Besides, The New York Times has claimed that Iraq holds chemical weapons, which means that it is partially guilty in Iraq war.

Now the paper is spreading news that Damascus used chemical weapons. They showed the research results of Theodore Postol from Massachusetts Institute of Technology proving that these facts were falsification.

The head of NJ Tea Party branch Frank Catton has stated that information on Syria and Russia published by The New York Times is not true. According to him, this paper is a brainwashing machine. He is sure that this paper is anti-Russian, anti-American and anti-human.

He has underlined that this campaign is first in the series of riots. One of the main tasks is to draw attention of advertising providers collaborating with this paper to its tactics. “We will not allow The New York Times stay unpunished,” the politician drew a conclusion.
