Russian National Team won three gold medals at 2017 UCI Track Cycling World Championships

1 TV ChannelRussian sportsmen won four medals at 2017 UCI Track Cycling World Championships in Hong Kong, as per TASS.

Our track cyclists won three gold and one bronze awards. They took the third place in the team classification. The sportsmen and their coaches have been waiting for such results for thirteen years.

Anastasia Voinova and Daria Shmeleva brought the first gold medal into the collection of the national team. They confirmed their champions’ title having won these competitions twice in a row. Russian Cycling Federation and coaches are inspired by this successful performance of our track cyclists giving hope for a medal at 2020 Olympics.

Denis Dmitriev held a long-expected victory in the individual Men’s Sprint proving to be the dominant rider. Russian track cyclist has stopped few steps away from the victory over the last three years. However, he managed to get the gold at Hong Kong track. Dmitriev added the award to his two silver and two bronzes of the World Championships and the Olympics.

The next World Championships will be held in Apeldoorn, Holland, where Russian sportsmen hope to show better results than in China.
