Zinaida Serebryakova retrospective opens in Tretyakov gallery

Exhibition of Zinaida Serebryakova openes in the Engineering Building of the Tretyakov gallery, TASS reports. More than 200 oils and drawings are presented, which makes this exhibit the largest in the course of last 30 years.

The exhibition includes well-known works, like Serebriakova's self-portrait At the Dressing-Table (1909), and also some that were done at the period of emigration to France.

At the official opening ceremony the deputy prime minister for social affairs of the Russian Federation Olga Golodets has mentioned that Serebryakova's works are very recognizable since some of her illustrations were even used in children books, while some of the artworks even connoseurs will see for the first time. The director of Tretyakov gallery Zelfira Tregulova is sure these artworks will touch hearts of many people.

The exhibition will be opened for the wide public on April, 5. Tickets are available online and directly in the museum.

The sad news about the explosion in St. Petersburg metro had arrived not long before the opening, therefore the minute of silence preceded the ceremony.
