Children’s play wins International Contest of Russian Drama for the first time

Children’s play Super Snooper Little Mouse by Elena Kollegova became a winner of the International contest Acting Characters of Russian Drama Theater, according to TASS. The Gala Award Ceremony took place in School of Modern Drama the day before.

The contest is conducted for the 14th time. Authors from nineteen countries of Europe, Asia, USA and Canada took part in it. A couple of hundreds of works were presented to the jury.

The organizers have noticed that children’s play held the victory for the first time in the history of the drama contest.

A bit earlier, the organizing committee defined a short-list of the nominees to be awarded. The works selected by the expert council of the contest will be published in the playbook “the Best Plays of the Year”.

Following the tradition, the Award Ceremony represented a theatrical performance. The selected plays were staged in the theatre as debuts of stage directors after that, a winner was chosen. It was unanimously resolved that the winner is Super Snooper Little Mouse. The primiere of this play is scheduled for the next season. It will be directed by the Russian University of Theatre Arts’ graduate of 2013 Oleg Dolin.
