Valentin Rasputin’s full collected edition is to be published

13.03.2017

Preparation work over the publishing of full collected edition by Valentin Rasputin has been started, RIA Novosti reports. The celebrated author of such literary works as French lessons and Farewell to Matyora, which replenished the Russian literature golden fund, would celebrate his 80th anniversary this year on March 15.

Publishing process will require a lot of time – up to five years. Presidential Adviser on culture Vladimir Tolstoy explained that publicist writings and letters of the author have not been completely gathered yet.

The editorial team has been formed already, and the editorial board is being established now. The first volumes of the full collected edition and literary writings might be published already this year; however, it is too early to talk about completion of this work.

A book comprising correspondence of Valentin Rasputin and Viktor Astafyev (a prominent Soviet and Russian writer) is to be issued by the anniversary of the famous writer.

The celebration will take place in the Pashkov house with participation of renowned cultural activists. Young actors will read the passages from Rasputin’s books. Besides, The Russian State Library will open exhibition Living Soul of Russia with lifetime editions and periodicals of those years.

Also The Bakhrushensky Museum prepared exhibition 'I wrote the love to Russia for all of my life'. It is dedicated to artworks of Valentin Rasputin and their reflection in the Russian theatre.
