Marika Rökk, singer, dancer and actress of Hungarian descent, who gained prominence in German films in the Nazi era, was actually a Soviet KGB agent during 1940s, Lenta.ru reports.

The German Intelligence Services have uncovered some documents that prove Nazi star Marika Rökk was a part of spy KGB ring. The actress was recruited as a KGB agent by her manager Heinz Hoffmeister, who was already working for Soviet Intelligence Service. It’s also believed that her husband Georg Jacoby was involved in spy ring Krona that was headed by the legendary Soviet agent Yan Chernyak.

In 1951 Rökk was uncovered by the West German domestic intelligence agency Gehlen.

Marika Rökk was one of the most popular actresses and singers in Nazi Germany, who was actually groomed by the Nazi regime. She took part in 40 movies and was very famous operetta singer performing onstage until 1986.

She was considered to be one of Hitler’s favourites and reportedly had an affair with his propaganda minister, Joseph Goebbels. Right after the World War II, for an involvement with Nazis the court prevented the actress to be on stage for 2 years and to sing in operetta for 5 years.
