Russian ice hockey players fail to reach final of 2017 IIHF World Junior Championship

Photo: pixabay.com Russia’s ice hockey players have failed to come through to the final of the 2017 IIHF World Junior Championship, reports RIA«Novosti».

Yesterday, they were defeated by the U.S. team in the semi-final match held in Montreal, Canada. The winner was determined after a series of penalty shots as the teams had played the match itself and the extra period by a score of 3:3.

Kirill Kaprizov pocketed a goal and Denis Guryanov lit the lamp twice.

The Chief Coach of the Russia’s Junior National Ice Hockey Team Valery Bragin shared his feelings with journalists after the team had been defeated by the U.S. team in the semi-final of the 2017 IIHF World Junior Championship.

The final is scheduled for tomorrow, 6 January. American and Canadian ice hockey players under 20 will compete tomorrow for the title of the world champions in the category.

Russian ice hockey players will play against the Czechia’s team and if they win the match they will become bronze winners of the 2017 IIHF World Junior Championship.
