Russian Ambassador at Groningen Russian Center

On 20 December, Russian Centein in Groningen hosted A.V. Shulgin, Russian Ambassador in the Netherlands, and the delegation of the Russian diplomats. History students of the Groningen University attended the meeting.

Hans van Koningsbrugge, Head of the Center, introduced the guests to the work of the Netherlands-Russia and the Russian centers. Alexander Shulgin talked about his visit to the North of the Netherlands. The delegation visited a museum in Assen that has been hosting a very interesting exhibition dedicated to the Russian Peredvizhniki, and Groningen Gas Union related to the gas industry in Russia.

During the meeting, a necessity to develop partnership between the Russian universities and the University of Groningen was discussed. Even though the meeting was time limited, the students had a chance to talk Mr. Shulgin and to ask questions. After, the delegation had a meeting with A. Poppema, President of the university.
