Russian military engineers ready to start clearance operation in Aleppo

Photo: © press office of Ministry of Defence of the RF The first party of Russian military engineers who are to carry out a clearance operation in Aleppo have arrived at the Khmeimim Air Base, reports TASS. The party consists of the specialists who carried out a clearance operation in Palmyra. Performing the mission, they will use specially trained dogs and robots.

Over 200 Russian military officers will take part in the clearance operation. About 50 items of specialized equipment, including robotic centers Uran-66, will be delivered to Syria as well. Using them, military engineers will be able to carry out the clearance operation in the remote-controlled manner.

As it was reported by Russkiy Mir website, Russian military engineers carried out a clearance operation in Palmyra in spring 2016. They examined over 2,500 buildings as well as areas located around them neutralizing about 18,000 explosive objects.
