Russian cuisine lovers meet at Russian Center in Ho Chi Minh

25.10.2016

Russian cuisine lovers met at the Russian Center under the Ho Chi Minh City University of Pedagogy on 24 October. Our project Russian Cuisine was launched many years ago and Vietnamese people have always been interested in it. We can say that it is their favorite project among all the other projects we offer to them.

No long ago, we held a presentation dealing with Russian national Cuisine during which we told Vietnamese students about the history of Russian cuisine, its development and the changes it has experienced over its centuries-long history. On 23 October, we held a practical training class during which a famous Russian salad named Olivier, was cooked. At the beginning of the event, the guests learned about the history of the salad created by a Frenchman Lucien Olivier, the owner of a Moscow restaurant named Hermitage (the second half of the 19th century). N. Zolkina shared various salad recipes with the guests. Vietnamese people know the salad as “the Russian salad”

Then, the Vietnamese students guided by trainer Tatyana Petrovna and our guest V. Vladovich made the salad themselves. It was not that easy but the guys managed to cook it and learned new words, including mayonnaise, ogurchikikornishony, goroshek and many others while making it. They all enjoyed the salad a lot. “It was a “delicious” class”, one of the girls said at the end of the meeting.
