Photo: © Fotolia/ wellphoto The 5th international conference entitled “Russia and Europe: urgent issues of contemporary international journalism” arranged by “International Life” edition with the support of the Russia’s MFA has started today in Bratislava.

The main subjects to be discussed at the conference are the reliability and accuracy of information spread by European mass media and the image of Russian and Russian people they create.

Experts in mass media and representatives of their related branches from Russia, Austria, Bulgaria, Germany, Italy, Norway, Slovakia and Czechia are to speak at the conference. Press Secretary of the Russkiy Mir Foundation Maria Mokhovikova is among its participants.


The conference is held in a different country every year. The management of the largest European mass media companies, politicians, diplomats, scientists and political analysts take part in it. The 1st conference was held in autumn 2011 in Paris, France. It was described as “the most important event in the world of mass media” in press. Then, the conferences were held in FRG, Austria and San Marino.
