At present she is being kept at a temporary entry center as she has violated the country's passport and visa requirements. According to the local law enforcement officials, the Russian woman spent more than 15 days in the coutntry for which a visa is not required, reports RIA Novosti.

The situation is complicated with the fact that Maria is deaf. Apart from that, she does not remember the names of her relatives. The only thing that the diplomats know about the woman is that she used to live in Suzdal.

The Russian woman explained that she had come to Laos with her fiancé. But he left her with no means of support and disappeared. According to the stamps in the passport, Maria has traveled to neighbouring countries multiple times in the last 1,5 years.

Currently the woman faces a fine and a deportation to Russia.

Russian diplomats are asking Maria’s relatives to contact the Consular department of Embassy of the Russian Federation in Laos on the following number +8562055515975.
