All in all, one hundred people including 46 gold medalists, 24 silver medalists and 30 bronze medalists got automobiles as a gift from the Russian government. Gold medalists were given BMW X6, silver medalists were given BMW X4 and bronze medalists were given BMW X3. In addition, the Olympic winners will receive an award fee of 4 million rubles, bronze medalists will receive an award fee of 2.5 million rubles and bronze medalists will receive an award fee of 1.7 million rubles.

Mr. Medvedev also specified that Russian Olympic winners will receive their award fees from the Foundation for the Support of Russian Olympians. According to him, the amount of the award fee from the Foundation is almost similar to the one given to athletes by the Russian government.

Besides, athletes banned from the participation at the Rio 2016 will also get financial help. Dmitry Medvedev is certain that there is no doubt that if they had not been banned from competing at the Rio Olympics 2016, they would have brought a lot of Olympic medals to the country.

Prime Minister Medvedev expressed his confidence that at Tokyo Olympics scheduled for 2020 the Russia’s National Olympic Team would perform as well as it did in Rio. Dmitry Medvedev characterized the decision on the banning of Russian athletes from competing at the Rio 2016 Paralympics as a cynic one.

As it was reported by Russkiy Mir website, President of the RF Vladimir Putin had handed out state awards to Russian Olympians earlier today.
