25.08.2016

Photo: theatre and concert directorate of the Pskov region Pskov and the Pushkin Mountains, Pskov region, are to host a festival dedicated to Sergei Dovlatov in a month, reports IA «Interfax».

According to the festival arrangers, the event will join together all branches of art including theatre, music and literature. Visitors will have a chance to learn more about contemporary culture.

The Pushkin Mountains were chosen as the festival major site for a good reason as a famous Russian writer used to work as a guide at the Museum-Reserve of A.S. Pushkin. At the same time, he collected materials for writing his novelette named The Reserve (Zapovednik). Sergei Dovlatov’s wife Elena and daughter Ekaterina supported the idea of the festival arrangement.

As it was reported by Russkiy Mir website, the culture forum was held for the first time last year. Representatives of different countries took part in it. The award ceremony of literary contest winners is dated to the festival, too. The participants and guests of the festival will have the opportunity to see a film named The End of a Great Era based on stories by Dovlatov and made by Stanislav Govorukhin.
