Experimental writers can apply for Daniil Kharms Prize

Photo: Photo: «Fontanka.ru» The annual Daniil Kharms Prize has been established in Saint Petersburg. It is to be awarded to experimental, avant-garde and progressive writers. The submission of applications for the prize has already started. For details one can go to the Daniil Kharms Prize official website.

The Daniil Kharms Prize was established in order to discover and encourage writers working in genres Daniil Kharms was interested in.

The jury will consider published literary compositions, theatre productions, cinema productions, pieces of pictorial and graphic art, sculptures, musical compositions as well as performances and pieces of video art.

In order “to increase the Daniil Kharms Prize significance”, the founders of the prize agreed on sorting out of only two winners. At that, they are going to award several encouragement prizes every year as well.

The names of the prize winners are to be announced on 30 December, which is Daniil Kharms’s date of birth.
