Russia to commemorate 200th Birth Anniversary of Feodor Dostoevsky

President of the RF Vladimir Putin has signed his edict on the commemoration of the 200th birth anniversary of Fyodor Dostoevsky. The document is available at legal information .

There is enough time to prepare for the celebration as it is only to take part in five years, in 2021.

A special committee for the arrangement of festive events is to be established within days. Regional executive authorities are recommended to join both in the preparations for celebrating the date and the commemoration of the 200th birth anniversary of Fyodor Dostoevsky.

Fyodor Dostoevsky was born in Moscow in 1821. He is still extremely popular with readers. Along with Leo Tolstoy he is the most popular Russian writer in foreign countries.
