Fedor Konukhov sets another record

Photo: © provided by Morton SC press office A Russian adventurer Fedor Konukhov performing his hot air balloon global flight has managed to set another world record, reports RIA«Novosti». His hot air balloon reached the altitude of 10,600 meters but the equipment installed on board the balloon showed that it had reached the altitude of over 11,000 meters.

According to the man’s team, Fedor Konukhov managed to beat a record set by James Stephen Fossett. That type of flight vehicles were considered to reach the altitude of 10,200 meters.

Up to date, Fedor Konukhov has already covered 29,000 kilometers. The flight has become harder over the last 24 hours due to the severe cyclone. At the moment the hot air balloon which was drifted to the Antarctic by the wind yesterday has started to come back to its trajectory. The aerostart is flying at the altitude of 7,800 meters above the earth at a speed of 190 kilometers per hour. The outside temperature is minus 55 degrees Celsius.

It is to be recalled, that Fedor Konukhov has set several records over the last week including the speed record of 240 kilometers per hour.
