Choreographer Boris Eifman celebrates his 70th birthday

Its program includes fragments of the ballets he staged that will be performed by Saint Petersburg ballet dancers. The Alexandrinsky Theatre is to host the event due to the fact that a lot of ballets staged by Boris Eifman were first presented to the audience there.

According to the choreographer, his theatre has taken its place in the world of ballet along with the Mariinsky Theatre and the Bolshoy Theatre. It has its own list of productions that is popular among the audiences of different countries. Mr. Eifman believes that the world needs ballet of the new millennium which is supposed to have its special plastique and philosophical content.

President of the RF Vladimir Putin congratulated Boris Eifman on his jubilee underlining that he is an outstanding master of choreography who has created a special creative environment and implemented a great number of projects that became remarkable cultural events.
