RusPrix Award Ceremony in Netherlands

Photo: WikipediaСтали известны имена лауреатов премии «Руспри». The RusPrix Award Ceremony took place in the Netherlands yesterday, reports TASS.

The award is given to people and organizations that contribute a lot to the development of the relationships between Russia and the Netherlands for over ten years.

According to Georgi Petrov, advisor to the Chairman of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the award might be considered as a unique project and it will be kept on being given to those who deserve it.

The award is a statuette showing two interlaced tulips of Russian and Holland national flags colors.

This year, there have been five RusPrix Award nominations. The Tomsk State University and the Maastricht University were awarded the prize For the Cooperation in Educational Sphere. The two universities launched several co-projects dealing with the training of specialists in physics, biology and medicine.

A historian and translator Gerard Willem van der Meiden received a special prize from the Russkiy Mir Foundation for his personal contribution to the promotion of the Russian language and culture throughout the Netherlands.

The Ambassador of the Russian Federation to the Kingdom of the Netherlands Alexander Shulgin is sorry about the fact that Russian- Dutch relationships are not at their height at the moment and the trade volume has dropped down drastically but the Netherlands still remain one of the Russia’s most important partners. He also said that despite all the current challenges no Dutch company has left the Russian market.
