20.06.2016

On June 16, 2016 the Russian Center at the Sofia City Library launched a program including events dedicated to the celebration of the 160th anniversary of the State Tretyakov Gallery hosting one of the world’s biggest collections of Russian fine art. The program also includes the screening of documentary films, video lectures, presentations, virtual tours, and off-site training.

The Russian Center team told the members of Russian culture and art lovers club about the history of the Tretyakov Gallery and then they had a virtual tour of the museum and its branches looking at some exhibits together. The visitors to the event learned about electronic resources which allow enjoying priceless collections of the Tretyakov Gallery or watch interesting fragments from films telling about the museum.

During an interesting discussion dealing with the history of the museum and the artists whose pictures, icons and sculptures are kept there, the guests admired pieces of Russian fine art, sculpture and icon-painting the Tretyalov Gallery hosts.

Russian language teachers suggested that the Russian Center team should arrange events dedicated to the 160th anniversary of the State Tretyakov Gallery at Sofia schools.
