Oleg Yankovsky Monument in Saratov

Photo: Press-service of Saratov's governor / ТАSSSaratov has hosted an opening ceremony of the monument dedicated to famous actor Oleg Yankovsky, reports ТАSS. Yankovsky spent his school years in this city; this is where he had started his carier in theater.

Oleg Tabakov, Irina Kupchenko and Yevgeny Mironov came to participate in the event. They shared their memories about their late colleague, his work and his heritage.

A bronze monument was created by Andrey Shcherbakov, famous sculpter and graphic artists from Saratov.

Oleg Yankovsky’s monument is located in a park near the I. Slonov drama theater; the monument is a statue of Yankovsky as one of his famous characters Baron Munchausen in the famous scene where he tries to climb up the rope ladder coming from the sky.
