Photo: RIA Novosti / Vladimir Vyatkin The date of the first Russian Charity Ball in Miami has been fixed, reports RIA «Novosti». According to the executive director of the event, it is scheduled for November 11, which is three days later the presidential election. According to the arrangers of the Charity Ball, it will contribute to the improvement of U.S.-Russian Relations.

The "Viennese Ball Moscow" company is the key consultant of the event. They have already arranged that sort of balls in Moscow, London and Rome among others. Alexander Smagin, general director of General Director of the "Viennese Ball Moscow", emphasized on the fact that “our young compatriots should deal with Russian classic art and its traditions more often”, as it is important that they could preserve Russian cultural heritage and “that special identity called the Russia soul”.

At the moment, at least 200,000 Russian speaking Americans live in Miami and its suburbs. According to Anastasia Gorshkova, after the first wave of Russian immigration to America occurred in the early 20th century, Russians started to come to the U.S. in the 1970s and 1990s. Nowadays, there are a lot of famous Russian athletes and stars of show-business living in America.

All the charitable donations raised during the Charity ball will go to the support of the Prince Vladimir Youth Association, a non-profit-making organization that deals with the preservation and promotion of Russian culture in Northern America. The Association already has over 300,000 members and they take an active part in expeditions as volunteers and arrange various events including concerts, readings and conferences.
