He thinks that best efforts should be made in order to encourage Russian people to read books written by both classics of Russian literature and contemporary Russian writers, reports TASS.

The Association of Russian Literature is supposed to promote Russia’s national languages and culture in foreign countries as well. Vladimir Putin is concerned that the best way to start the job is to study the experience gained by the Royal Society of Literature (UK), the Italian Cultural Institute, the Cervantes Institute (Spain), the Goethe-Institut (Germany) and the Confucius Institute (China) in that field.

As it was reported by the clearing house of the Russkiy Mir Foundation, the Association of Russian literature held its first congress. It is to be recalled, that the Association of Russian Literature is headed by Patriarch Kirill.
