Repin St. Petersburg State Academy Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture Semyon Mikhailovsky and Sergey Kuznetsov is a curator of the Russian pavilion.

Russia presents an exhibition V.D.N.H. Urban Phenomenon including multimedia installations and artefacts. According to the Chief Architect of Moscow Sergey Kuznetsov, too little is known about the unique exhibition complex in the world. He also underlines that “it is an outstanding and special project in the context of sociology and culture”.

Some analytical papers developed by students during a specially arranged international research seminar organized by the Vysokovsky Graduate School of Urbanism and the Institute for Advanced Architecture of Catalonia were used for the exposition arrangement as well.

This year, the exhibition entitled “News from the frontline” will present the Matrex building project developed by Bureau Bernaskoni, which construction has already started. It is located in the area of Skolkovo innovation center. The ultramodern high tech building is built in form of a frustum and its interior reminds of a famous Russian nesting doll.

This year, 88 architects from over 60 countries take part in the biennale. The exhibition is to be available till late November.
