St Petersburg Is the Best Tourist Destination

It is the third time St Petersburg has been announced the best Russian tourist destination, reports TASS. A traditional rating is made by the international tourist portal TripAdvisor annually.

St Petersburg got position 8 in the Europe rating of tourist destinations and position 14 in the world rating of them.

Over 6 million guests visited St Petersburg in 2015, which was the biggest number of tourists coming to the city over the recent years. The tourist flow rose by 20% and about three million foreign tourists including Chinese tourists who prevailed among them had visited the "Northern Palmyra".

German, Italian and Finnish tourists were also interested in St Petersburg though a number of Russian tourists visiting the city was constantly growing. Over three million Russian people had come to see St Petersburg sights.

Peterhof was considered to be the most popular tourist attraction and it was visited by over five million tourists in 2015.
