Famous Turkish Poet Writes Apology Poem

A well-known Turkish poet Hussein Haydar wrote a poem in which he apologized to Russian people for the aircraft that had been shot down by Turkish warplanes and for the pilot’s death. The video of him reading the poem was uploaded to YouTube yesterday, reports RIA Novosti. He apologizes to “great Russian people” for the fact that “we witnessed a rift with Russia”.

Haydar is one of the most famous Turkish poets. He was born in 1956 and published several books of poems which were success with the readers and were highly praised by literary scholars.

The poet feels guilty for the pilot’s death. He mentions a lot of people in his poem to whom he apologizes and such names as Mayakovsky, Gorky, Gagrin and all The Great Patriotic War veterans who defeated fascism are found in his piece of poetry.

In the last lines of his poem the poet says “I am bending the knee to Oleg Peshkov’s mother and ask her pardon for his death”.

As it was reported by the clearing house of the Russkiy Mir, SU-24 was completing its combat mission as part of the anti-terrorist operation in Syria when it was shot down by Turkish warplanes. President of Russia Vladimir Putin considers that a stab in the back Russia got struggling against transnational terrorism.
