Seminar on Teaching Russian as a Foreign Language to Take Place in Milan

24.04.2009

The International Association of Teachers of Russian Language and Literature (MAPRYAL) will hold a conference seminar in Milan on issues related to teaching Russian as a foreign language. The conference is being supported by the Russkiy Mir Foundation.

Particular attention will be paid to the testing system that is widespread both in Russia and abroad. Russia’s Ministry of Education and Science has approved the requirements for public testing of Russian as a foreign language, which determines the level of Russian language instruction in accordance with recommendations made by the Council of Europe and ALTE (Association of Language Testers in Europe).

Leading experts on teaching Russian as a foreign language will read lectures, as well as offer practical classes, master classes and training sessions for teachers of Russian and experts in language testing. They will also introduce a new generation of teaching and testing materials.
