Russian Language Olympics in Harbin

Russian Language Olympics took place at Heilongjiang Academic and Technical Institute in Harbin, China, with the support of the Russkiy Mir Foundation and Far East State University.

First, second and third year students of non-profile departments took part in the competition, which included singing of Russian songs, interpretive reading of poetry and prose and role playing.

"The students prepared for this event long in advance and each song or poetry reading was an performance in and of itself," said Ulyana Sosnova, head of the International Department at Far East State University. "In this Year of the Russian Language in China students of various specialties in Harbin have shown great motivation toward studying the Russian language, and this is very pleasant.

The jury included instructors from Far East State University and Heilongjiang Academic and Technical Institute.
